Larry Jones is the Associate Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church
of Raytown, MO. Duties at the church include directing the adult orchestra,
student orchestra, and handbell choir as well as overseeing the entire
instrumental worship ministry. Larry arranges regularly for these
ensembles
and for various special events. He served previously at First Baptist
Church of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Larry has studied orchestration, arranging, and composition at
the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Florida Atlantic University,
and the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He has written,
typeset, and arranged music for the Ft. Lauderdale Christmas Pageant,
the Heart of America Christmas Pageant, the Avatar Brass Quintet,
and the King’s Brass. Larry has over 8 years experience
with Finale software. He excels at projects of any size, from
transpositions, to congregational arrangements, to orchestral
transcriptions.
Larry resides in the Kansas City, MO metro area with
his wife and two daughters, where he is active as an educator, conductor,
and trumpet

Mr. Reid attended Missouri Southern State University where he studied
piano and percussion. In 1993 he received a degree in Music Education
from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas with a strong emphasis in jazz
piano and percussion. For seven years he was a head band director in
the Aldine Independent School District, Houston, Texas.
Mr. Reid is an active participant in the music industry where he is
recognized as a multi-functional musician. He performs regularly as a
well-respected
pianist, percussionist and drummer. He has appeared with James Williams,
Christian McBride, Alicia Williamson, Horace Alexander Young, Wendell
Brooks of the Simon Phillips Band, Clay Walker and others. In addition
to guest appearances Danny is currently the Musical Director, founder
and pianist of the “Dan Reid Project”. He is a writer and
arranger for this project, requiring versatility in a variety of musical
styles to include jazz, R & B, soul, funk, gospel, pop, C&W
and more. His broad performance history also includes experience in
symphonic
and orchestral atmospheres. Aside from the performance arena, Danny
has an extensive history and remains involved regularly as a music
educator,
clinician, and entertainment consultant.
Mr. Reid currently resides in Kansas City. Missouri and is a staff music
associate at First Baptist Church of Raytown. He is an arranger for
various ensembles and is an expert with music transcription. He is the
musical
director for the contemporary praise band and assistant director
of the orchestra. Prior to his position at Raytown, Danny was the instrumental
worship director at Humble Area First Baptist Church in Houston,
Texas.
Before his formal ministry began he served for five years as a volunteer
performer under the direction of Steve Dunn and David Winkler.
Professional
organizations include International Association of Jazz Educators,
Missouri Music Educators Association, Texas Music Educators
Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, National Piano Guild, Kappa
Delta Pi International Honor Society and the Southern Baptist Convention. |
